Dinner at Hawksmoor

Last weekend over the Bank Holiday I went to dinner at Hawksmoor steakhouse in Shoreditch and I decided to step out of my casual clothes and glam myself up a little bit. As usual I was napping throughout the day and I got ready at the last minute which left me with 20 minutes to do my makeup and get dressed but I somehow managed to pull it all of in time. Here is my outfit for dinner last week saturday.

Dress - Zara | Nude Heeled Sandals with Gold Strap - ASOS | Bag - Zara | Necklace - ASOS

Primer: Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer
Foundation: Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24hr - no.10
Concealer: MAC Select Cover Up - NC45 (used under eyes)
Powder: MAC Blot Powder - Dark
Contour: Sleek Face Contour Kit - Dark
Blush: MAC Blush - Pinch Me
Eyebrows: MAC Fluidline Gel Eyeliner - Dipdown
Eyes: Urban Decay Naked Eyeshadow Palette
Eyelashes: From TK Maxx
Lips: MAC Lip Liner - Magenta and MAC Lipstick - Heroine

Everyone that knows me knows that meat is not one of my favourite choices and 80% of the time I am eating fish or seafood. I actually nearly chose fish when I went to order but I decided to step out of my comfort zone and try the amazing steak that everyone raves about from Hawksmoor. I must admit I was not disappointed, it was seriously amazing steak and the side dishes were just as good. The Mac & cheese was just to die for and it went well with the steak.

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstick

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstick | £8.99 each
06 Pink Pong | 05 Ole Flamingo | 02 Frambourjoise

Bourjois recently released the Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstick collection and with the bright vivid colours they come I would say just in time for Spring/Summer season. Bourjois describes the collection as "a range that gives your lips bold, matte and long lasting colour with 24hr hold. Lips are left smooth and soft as velvet. Enriched with evanescent oils, it’s incredibly sensuous formula provides a soft, second-skin feel, without drying or fading lips."

The lipsticks in the collection are of a lip stain formula but they are amazingly soft, creamy, buttery and easy to apply to the lips all of this whilst drying to a matte finish. After applying the Rouge Edition Velvet lipsticks to my lips I must say that I was surprised that such a great product is available on the high street. It is very hard to find lip stains that are not over drying on the lips, in fact these are the opposite. They are so moisturising I found it took at least 5 minutes for the stains to dry to a matte finish on my lips. This allows you more time to ensure you applied it correctly and to rectify any mistakes which I find most lip stains do not allow due to their fast drying properties. They are also long wearing lasting more than 8 hours with the need for only one touch during the day.

Pink Pong - A hot pink/fuchsia. This colour is a lot more vivid and bright in person, and it really packs a punch! I have seen it worn on many skin tones and it somehow just works, t is my favourite shade from the collection.

Ole Flamingo - A bright pink. It is not as bright a Pink Pong but it still out there and

Frambourjose - A raspberry shade. It is not my favourite of the three shades because I find it needs more than two layers when applied if not it looks slightly patchy.

I have worn these lip stain regularly since buying them 2 weeks ago and I have nothing but praises for them. Pink Pong is my favourite colour and I have had lots of people asking what I was wearing when I had it on over the weekend.  My only gripe with the product was that I wish they dried a little more faster than they do and I find that if I put more than two layers on it takes quite a while for the product to dry to a completely matte finish.

I bought these in store from Superdrug and they currently have a deal where if you buy one Bourjois product you get the second half price! So hurry and get your hands on these. Alternatively you can find the whole collection online at Boots.
